Step 1: Single Application Procedure (Combined Work & Residence Permit): The employer in Hungary applies for the work authorization and preliminary residence permit (Single Permit) via the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing (NDGAP / Országos Idegenrendészeti Főigazgatóság).

Mandatory Submission in New Delhi: All Hungarian Work Visa applications, physical document verification, and biometric appointments for Bangladeshi nationals must be completed directly at the Embassy of Hungary in New Delhi, India.

Work Visa Filing Procedure for Bangladeshi Applicants
Employer Clearance: The Hungarian employer files for a Single Permit via the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing (NDGAP) in Hungary.
Indian Entry Visa: Upon receiving the Work Permit Approval Notice (Igazolás), the applicant must apply for an Indian visa to visit New Delhi.
Embassy Submission & Biometrics: Book an official appointment and travel in person to the Embassy of Hungary in New Delhi to submit biometrics, present original certificates (attested by MOFA Bangladesh), and complete the visa interview.
Valid Passport: Original passport valid for at least 1 year with a minimum of 2 blank pages.
D-Visa Application Form: Fully completed and signed Application for Employment-Purpose Residence Permit (Type D Visa).
Biometric Photos: 2 recent passport-format photos (35mm × 45mm, white background, 80% face coverage).
Official Work Approval Documents:
Approved Preliminary Work Resolution (Igazolás) issued by NDGAP.
Signed Employment Contract or Preliminary Labor Agreement.
Proof of Accommodation: Accommodation Confirmation, lease agreement, or Employer’s Certificate confirming housing provision.
Educational & Experience Records: Diplomas, vocational certificates, and work experience letters (translated into English/Hungarian and notarized).
Proof of Means of Subsistence: Employer declaration of wages or personal bank statement confirming sufficient initial funds.
Travel Medical Insurance: Cover note for travel insurance valid for at least 30 days upon entry (minimum coverage of €30,000).
1. Temporary Residence Permit (TRC / Residence Permit / Employee Card)
Arrival & Registration: The candidate enters Hungary on a single-entry Type D visa (valid for 30 days from entry).
Card Collection: Within 30 days of arrival, the worker visits the local Immigration Office (NDGAP) to register their address, submit biometric data, and receive the physical Residence Permit Card (valid for 1 to 2 years, renewable).
2. Permanent Residence (PR / National Permanent Residence Permit)
Standard Eligibility: Foreign workers can apply for a Permanent Residence Permit (Nemzeti letelepedési engedély) after lawfully residing in Hungary continuously for at least 3 years.
