Step 1: Labor Market Clearance & Work Approval: The North Macedonian employer applies for a Single Permit / Work Clearance from the Employment Service Agency (Agencija za vrbotuvanje) and the Ministry of Interior in Skopje.
Step 2: Issuance of Preliminary Permit: Upon approval, the employer receives the official Work Permit Confirmation / Approval Notice and sends the original package to the employee.

Important Note for Bangladeshi Applicants (Filing Process)
No Visa Processing in Bangladesh: There is no Embassy or VFS Global Application Centre of North Macedonia in Bangladesh that processes visas.
Mandatory Travel to New Delhi, India: All Bangladeshi citizens must apply for their North Macedonia Type D Work Visa through the Embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia in New Delhi, India.
In-Person Appointment & Interview: Applicants must attend an in-person appointment at the New Delhi Embassy to submit original documents, provide biometrics, and attend a consular interview.
Indian Visa Requirement: You must obtain a valid Indian Entry/Double-Entry Visa prior to traveling to New Delhi for your appointment.
Attestation Requirements: All Bangladeshi-issued academic credentials, Police Clearance Certificates (PCC), and personal documents must be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Bangladesh before submission to the embassy.
Valid Passport: Must be valid for at least 3 to 6 months beyond the intended visa expiry date with at least 2 blank pages.
Type D Visa Form: Completed and signed application form.
Biometric Photos: 2 recent passport-format photos (35mm × 45mm, white background, 80% face coverage).
Work Approval Documents:

Police Clearance Certificate (PCC): Clean criminal record check issued within the last 6 months, officially translated into Macedonian/English and legalized.
1. Temporary Residence Permit (TRC / Residence Card)
Arrival Registration: Enter North Macedonia using the single-entry Type D visa.
Mandatory Reporting: Within 5 days of arrival, report to the Ministry of Interior (Ministerstvo za vnatrešni raboti) in North Macedonia to complete address registration and finalize the physical Temporary Residence Card issuance.
Validity: Issued for 1 year initially and renewable annually through the employer.
2. Permanent Residence (PR)
Standard Pathway: Eligible to apply for Permanent Residence after legally and continuously residing in North Macedonia with a TRC for 5 years.
