Competitive Minimum Wage & Salaries:
Minimum Wage: Statutory gross minimum wage is €915 per month.
Average Salary: Entry-level or general factory/construction positions average €950 – €1,400 per month (Gross) depending on shifts and overtime allowances.

Step 1: Labor Market Clearance: The Slovak employer reports the vacancy to the competent Central Office of Labour, Social Affairs and Family (Ústredie práce, sociálnych vecí a rodiny – ÚPSVaR) to issue an official promise of employment or labor clearance.
Step 2: Employer-Initiated Booking: The Slovak employer must submit an appointment request for the National Long-Stay Visa (Type D) directly to the Slovak Ministry/Embassy. Individual applicant bookings are not accepted by the embassy.
Step 3: In-Person Biometrics & Filing: The applicant attends the scheduled appointment to submit original paper documents, complete biometrics, and pay official fees.
Step 4: Visa Fees:
National D-Visa Fee: €90 – €110 (depending on application purpose/residence category).
Administrative, VFS/BLS handling service fees, translation, and document apostille/legalization expenses apply.
Important Note for Bangladeshi Applicants (Filing Process)
No Visa Submission in Bangladesh: There is no Embassy of Slovakia or VFS Global Application Centre in Bangladesh that processes National Work Visas (Type D) or Residence Permits.
Mandatory Travel to New Delhi: All Slovak Work Visa applications, document verification, and biometric registration for Bangladeshi citizens are processed strictly by the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in New Delhi, India.
Employer-Only Appointment Registration: Individual candidates cannot self-book visa appointments at the embassy. The Slovak employer (with a valid Slovak IČO registration number) must email the embassy directly to request an appointment on designated dates.
Indian Visa Requirement: Bangladeshi applicants must obtain an Indian Entry/Double-Entry visa in advance to travel to New Delhi for their submission appointment once authorized.
Document Legalization Standards: All official Bangladeshi certificates (PCC, degrees) must be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Bangladesh before submitting them to the Slovak Embassy in India.
Valid Passport: Must be valid for at least 90 days past the intended departure date, issued within the last 10 years, with at least 2 blank pages.
National D-Visa Application Form: Duly filled and signed.
Biometric Photos: 2 recent passport-format color photographs (35mm × 45mm, plain white background).
Proof of Employment Purpose: Signed Employment Contract, official job offer, or labor authorization confirmation (Prisľúbenie na zamestnanie).
Proof of Accommodation: Registered lease contract, hotel reservation, or official notarized accommodation declaration from the Slovak employer.
Financial Proof: Bank statement demonstrating at least €56 per day for the duration of stay (or €26 per day if housing is fully prepaid).
Travel Health Insurance: Full coverage for all Schengen countries for emergency medical care and repatriation, minimum €30,000 coverage.
Police Clearance Certificate (PCC): PCC issued within the last 90 days, officially translated into Slovak and Apostilled/Legalized.
1. Temporary Residence Permit (TRC / Residence Permit)
Filing Timeline: Foreign workers entering on a Type D visa must apply for their Temporary Residence for Employment (Prechodný pobyt na účel zamestnania) either through the embassy before entry or directly at the local Foreign Police Department (Cudzinecká polícia) in Slovakia within 30 days of arrival.
Validity: Issued for up to 2 years initially (renewable).
2. Permanent Residence (PR / Long-Term Residence)
Standard Pathway: Eligible to apply for Long-Term Residence (Dlhodobý pobyt) after legally residing in Slovakia continuously for 5 years with a TRC.
Requirements: Continuous employment, proof of financial independence, valid housing, no criminal record, and basic integration checks.
